I CAN HAZ SAW BACK PAW

Tendinitis

Achilles Tendinitis.

Cannot walk on right foot as where the tendons attach to the back of the heel is mega inflamed. Doctor says anti-inflammatory drugs, raised leg and warm compress. No walking or stress on the foot.

The kittehs think I am just bone lazy not getting them their fuds, but are liking the warm compress and think this is exclusively for their use.

Good news is that in this modern world of intarwebs and computers, I can work from home. And I will live, too.

Al Upton and the miniLegends

Microsoft is sponsoring The Extraordinary Everyday Lives Show on The Podcast Network for 6 episodes as an experiment, and I really like the format that Uncle Dave Wallace and Uncle Mike Seyfang have created.

Episode 044 is with South Australian Teacher, Al Upton, on the Order for Closure for his miniLegends blog. I fear that process may have hit the innovation fan. I hope that process learns from the shutdown of the miniLegends work. For the benefit of all children who are living daily in a digital age.

It is teachers like Al the who exhibit enthusiasm and commitment to his students and improving learning makes the difference. That is what is remembered.

Making a “Lucky” Future Windows

A posting on Microsoft Watch by Joe Wilcox: “10 Ways Microsoft Can Make Windows 7 Lucky” provides intriguing 10 things Microsoft can do to make the next version of Windows.

I personally know very little of what is going on in the Windows world, so it’s tough to comment on whether Joe is on the mark, or not.

However, one point hit home for me:

8. Windows 7 must give much, through sync. Synchronization is the other killer UI, and it’s essential to fulfilling Ozzie’s mesh vision. Windows 7 needs a synchronization engine bound to the IP stack. This sync platform would become the hub for data exchange regardless of format or service. It’s a tough challenge and maybe even beyond Microsoft resources for Windows 7.

As the number of devices grow: from iPhones to Intel Atom-based mini PCs, to laptops to multiple-core desktops: the concept of where our data lives needs to change. Roll on Dataportability, Meshing and Clouding.
